Series of postcards showing the reconstruction of an ideal area of the city of Cairo in Milan for the Universal Exhibition of 1906. The Exposition was organized on the occasion of the opening of the Sempione Tunnel in 1906 and covered a space of over a million of square meters. One-third of the area was filled with pavilions designed by famous Italian architects. The exhibition cost was over 12 million lire. The event draw the attention of over 5 million spectators and the participation of 35 thousand exhibitors.
